303

castle

I played around with this a bit, as you can tell. I like real castles better.

302

bubbles

The road in front of our house was redone this week. I like the texture of the new tar, and sealant. I remember as a kid when they fixed our street, and we had to have our feet cleaned with gasoline and paint thinner.

I bet that was really healthy for us...

301

my mood

I have been ill for a few days now, and it is dragging on me. Somehow this portrays how I feel both physically and mentally.

298

clouds

I like the other worldliness of this image. I seems bent, or askew.

297

sitting watching

I had a whole series of images from my son's soccer game, but was drawn to this shot instead.

296

ball

We went for a walk, and I did some trash picking. We found a complete croquet set. I only wish the balls were wood.

295

flowers

I do not usually like to crop photographs, except to make the square. I wish there was some way to alter the parameters of the camera to shoot in a square format. It is one thing I miss from shooting medium format.

294

exploration on my doorstep

I planned to go for a walk to see what I could find, and did not even leave the sidewalk leading up to our house.

293

goodwill

I wandered around the thrift store last night shooting. I probably looked weird, but not as weird as the pink shirted Elvis impersonator with the pony tail. I would have taken a picture of him, but he was a little too odd.

292

dark and blurry

I have gravitated to the drab, indistinct, and somewhat down images lately. I guess it is partly my mood, the weather, and the busyness of life lately. These past few images (and ones that did not make the blog) seem to be a dark, blurry, oasis in a busy world 9at least for me).

288

art building

The smell of paint, pastels, and photo chemistry brings back so many memories.

287

bennington

The porch at the admissions building at Bennington College.

286

 odd light

I walked into our back hall and was struck by this light. The change in season has made light come into some odd places in our house.

284

other church, also askew

I have been drawn to similar images, at different times each day. Until I went back and looked at the shots, I didn't even realize they were so similar...

283

church askew

This is not a religious commentary (since this isn't even a church anymore)

282

stop

This would be a good example for my composition unit at school. The mood seems dark, but that wasn't my intent when I shot it. I think the B&W has much to do with that.

281

steel

Again with the patterns. My compositions seem to gravitate to the diagonal frequently.

280

Dots

I have been doing a lot of work with patterns and textures at school, so this seemed a natural progression.

278

street

I went out to look for different types of light this evening. It is getting darker sooner, and colder. I am not a big fan of winter.

04 October 2010

277

paint

I like the colors here, and wanted to see how far I could compress the depth of field and still have an image that works.

276

light and dark

Genevieve in the dark, again I like playing with "types" of light. I am surprised how cold the laptop light is.

02 October 2010

275

flowers

The late afternoon light was amazing today. I went to the yard to shoot some of the late summer flowers, with a chill in the air. I wonder how long they will last.

274

up close

I was inspired by our friends Lynn and Nick to take some close up shots with a alternative lens setup. My results are not as clean as theirs, and maybe are just a bit creepy.
