busy

How can a quiet calm place like this seem so busy visually. Sometimes I find the distraction of the myriad of books hard to take.

More texture...

315

old - blue

I like the shine, and the interesting combination of light sources in this.

light

At school I am teaching about texture, and I see it creeping into the next few images I produced. I have been working, but have not posted consistently because of how busy things have been.

stairs

I like the darkness and flat planes of the stairs in our house. Growing up we had straight, steep steps, and I always found them scary (I still do not like them much). But turning stairs seem more interesting, inviting. It reminds me of Dover Castle, or the Fort at High Knoll.

curved wall

The bend created by the lens is a fun thing to play with. I am doing a lot of work with my students with textures, and I find that is informing how I look at things lately...

310

light on the door

Sometimes I am just amazed by little things, the light streaming in on the floor. Dust, shadows, is that weird?

309

window

I like to shoot out windows for some reason.

rain drops

I like these close up shots, rain, and the odd light thrown by the street lamps. It seems otherworldly to me.

plates

I love the close-up shots I can get with the little 35 f1.8 lens we have. It is fun to play with.

306

strings

We are beginning to get ready for Christmas caroling and I am playing guitar more, so the sunlight streaming into the room today caught my eye.

305

this little...

I like the contrast between the toes, and the texture of the couch. Plus Samuel even LET me photograph him two days in a row.
